The possibility of violence at a local barber shop is what prompted a police presence earlier this week.
Peterborough Police Chief Scott Gilbert says officers were requested at Who’s Next Barbershop by public health officials to keep the peace.
Last night, Peterborough Public Health inspectors boarded up the windows and doors of the barbershop around 9:00pm, a move that the shop’s Facebook page claims is illegal. Gilbert notes that while the owner says he’s staying open to support his family, he feels there may be other factors at play as well.
Last week, Who’s Next Barbershop was served a Section 22 notice by Peterborough Public Health, and was also charged twice under the Reopening Ontario Act.
