Peterborough’s Chief of Police has released a statement regarding the Severn Court Student Residence COVID-19 outbreak.
Scott Gilbert confirms the service is assisting with the investigation into the incident and laying charges and/or fines where appropriate.
Gilbert adds that all residents should continue to follow the rules set out by Peterborough Public Health by continuing to wear your mask, wash your hands, and abide by physical distancing measures.
Health officials are still trying to establish if there was one gathering or multiple gatherings connected to this particular outbreak. Peterborough Public Health says the outbreak is now linked to 34 cases including 29 Fleming students and five Trent students.
