Get ready to swing, sway and soak up the music as Big Band Day returns to Millennium Park on Saturday, September 12 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This very popular free family-friendly event invites music lovers of all ages to enjoy an unforgettable afternoon of Big Band performances in one of Peterborough’s most scenic outdoor venues, Millennium Park, right next to the Silver Bean Café. Featured songs range from traditional jazz standards and swing classics to Latin, funk, rock and pop from the 1960-1990s, something to suit everyone’s musical taste. Prepare to sit back and be thoroughly entertained by the 4 talented bands! Admission is free. Chairs, picnic tables and shade canopies will be provided but attendees may want to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for a full afternoon of music by the water. There will be a 50/50 Draw, tickets for which will be sold at Millennium Park throughout the afternoon. The draw will take place just after. This is an outdoor event and is weather-dependent. No rain date is scheduled.
