Sunrise Remembrance Day Service
Little Lake Cemetery and Highland Park Funeral Centre staff are inviting the public to join them to honour those who fought for our freedoms. A public sunrise Remembrance Day service will take place at 7:30 a.m. on November 11th at the war memorial in Little Lake Cemetery. This service will be open to anyone who would like to attend. It’s important to honour our veterans who have fought for the freedoms we have today. Little Lake and Highland Park staff wanted to give our community another opportunity to honour those veterans. As schedules don’t always allow for people to pay tribute at the Cenotaph at 11 a.m., this provides an alternative for those to do that before work or school”.
Little Lake and Highland Park Cemeteries are also working with various schools in the area in association with the foundation, No Stone Left Alone. This Foundation specifically focuses on educating youth in Canada about Canadian veterans. Students will be placing Canadian flags at individual veteran’s graves in the days prior to Remembrance Day.
Staff will be at the main gates of Little Lake Cemetery to direct those attending to the veteran’s section of the cemetery.
