A 37-year-old man wanted on multiple warrants has been arrested following a brief foot chase in Peterborough and is now facing an additional charge.
The Peterborough Police Service says officers on patrol spotted the man around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of George Street North and London Street. When approached, he fled southbound, prompting a pursuit with assistance from additional officers.
Police say the man was arrested a short time later near Bethune and King streets.
He was wanted on four warrants related to charges including theft under $5,000, robbery with violence, break and enter, and multiple counts of failing to comply with probation and release orders.
Following his arrest, he was also charged with failing to comply with a release order, which included a condition not to communicate with the individual he was seen with.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court April 15th.
