Peterborough continued its push toward a more sustainable future with the return of ‘RE:Connect’, a community-driven initiative focused on reducing waste and encouraging environmental responsibility.
The event held on Wednesday, brought together residents, organizations, and local groups to take collective action in making the city greener.
Founder of Clean Up Peterborough, Steve Paul, says the initiative is rooted in collaboration and aims to inspire everyday changes while fostering a stronger sense of environmental awareness across the community.
Paul spoke to PTBOTODAY.ca about how the event is evolving through increased participation and community driven ideas and initiatives.
Paul says things like the clothing swap are great community resources for those who need it and will be the things he looks to expand and develop in the future.
As the initiative grows, organizers hope to build lasting habits and stronger community connections, ensuring Peterborough continues moving forward on its environmental goals.
