Wednesday: RE:Connect – Peterborough’s Circular Economy Celebration and Learning Event — Clean Up Peterborough hosts this free, family-friendly event from 11 am to 7 pm at Morrow Building in the Peterborough Memorial Centre parking lot. The event focuses on sustainability, reuse, and waste reduction, featuring hard-to-recycle drop-off programs, the Great Peterborough Clothing Swap, the RE:Create art contest, local vendors, demonstrations, and environmental learning booths.
Wednesday: Improv at the Library — Drop-in improv comedy and storytelling workshop hosted by Rapids End Improv in partnership with the Douro-Dummer Public Library from 7–8:30 pm at 435 Fourth Line, Douro. Learn improv basics through games and exercises in a weekly series running Wednesdays until May 6. Open to ages 15+, free of charge.
Wednesday: Entrepreneurship 101: Staff Smart – Hiring Your First Employee — Community Futures Peterborough hosts this free workshop from 12–1 pm at VentureNorth, Lower Level Board Room, 270 George St. N., Peterborough. Designed for small business owners, the session covers key steps, responsibilities, and legal requirements for hiring in Ontario, including employment standards, HR basics, costs and risks, and the difference between employees and independent contractors.
Wednesday and Thursday: Donnie and Me and the CBC: Chris Earle & Shari Hollett — A solo theatre performance written and performed by Chris Earle, directed by Shari Hollett, running April 15–16, 2026 at 7:30 pm at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre, 140 Charlotte St., Peterborough. The show explores love, family, and 1970s Montreal through the lens of CBC radio, blending humour and heart in a 60-minute production. Tickets are available on a sliding scale through the Market Hall Box Office. Wheelchair accessible seating is available at ground level.
Thursday: We Wear Many Hats – Opening Reception — Fleming College, in collaboration with the Peterborough Museum & Archives, presents this exhibition opening from 2–4 pm. The show explores the social and cultural meaning of headwear and runs until June 14. The opening reception includes remarks from the curatorial team and light refreshments at the Peterborough Museum & Archives.
Thursday: The Mom Talk: Setting Boundaries in Motherhood — Cool Moms Club Northumberland hosts a therapist-led discussion from 7–8:30 pm at The Pulse Cafe & Eatery, 10 Robertson St., Port Hope. Led by therapist Julia Wood, RSW, MSW, the session focuses on setting boundaries in motherhood and includes guided discussion, a journal for participants, and time to connect with other parents over coffee and tea. Doors open at 6:45 pm. This is an in-person, 18+ event with free parking.
