The City of Peterborough is inviting residents to help shape planned upgrades to Kawartha Heights Park at an upcoming public session.
A drop-in meeting is scheduled for April 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre on Brealey Drive.
The park, located on Kawartha Heights Boulevard, currently includes a playground, soccer field and basketball court. Proposed improvements would be completed in two phases, beginning in 2027 with field upgrades and formalized parking, followed by new amenities in 2028 such as a splashpad, pet exercise area and multi-use sport court.
Monaghan Ward councillors Matt Crowley and Don Vassiliadis say the project aims to enhance the park as a community hub.
Community Services co-chairs Lesley Parnell and Alex Bierk say the upgrades were identified through the city’s recreation facilities study.
Residents can also provide feedback through an online survey open until May 8, with final plans subject to council budget approval.
