Graffiti reports across multiple parts of the city led to two arrests after police say they caught a pair in the act.
Officers were called to the Safe Consumption Site around 10 pm Friday after reports a man and woman were spray painting the building. Police say two people matching the description were found nearby and taken into custody.
A search after arrest turned up four cans of spray paint along with a knife.
Investigators say the pair are also linked to additional graffiti reported on street light poles and electrical boxes in the Sherbrooke Street and Bethune Street area.
A 35-year-old Peterborough man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon along with mischief over $5,000 and under $5,000.
A 32-year-old Peterborough woman is charged with mischief over $5,000 and under $5,000.
Police say there’s no indication these incidents are connected to separate graffiti reported on a west-end fence earlier this month. Anyone with information on that case is asked to contact Peterborough Police or Crime Stoppers.
