A day that baseball fans throughout the Peterborough region have eagerly awaited since November 1st is now upon us, with the Toronto Blues Jays set to open a new this season this Friday against the Oakland A’s.
Local resident Bob Lewis, who attends a few Jays games each season with his wife Maureen, echoes the sentiment of many ball fans when he says it has been a particularly long winter since the Jays’ heartbreaking World Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
While hopeful, Lewis says it’ll be tough for the Blue Jays to get back to the World Series.
Lewis admits he’s still not over the pain of last year’s failed championship bid.
While he’s looking forward to a return to the Rogers Centre to cheer on his team, Lewis admits to another draw – Loonie Hot Dogs.
