A local church is opening the door to an important conversation about dementia care and the challenges families face trying to keep loved ones at home.
Mark Street United Church is hosting a screening of No More Silent Battles on Monday, April 20 at 7 pm, followed by a community discussion.
The documentary is directed by Jenny Ingram, a specialist in internal and geriatric medicine who has spent decades working with seniors. Through her work, she has seen firsthand the realities of memory loss and dementia, and the growing challenges families face when trying to care for loved ones at home.
The film features local voices sharing their experiences, focusing on the difficulties of maintaining home care without enough support and resources.
Following the screening, attendees are invited to take part in a discussion aimed at exploring practical, realistic solutions. Dr. Ingram will be on hand to answer questions and engage with the community.
