A man already wanted on multiple warrants is facing new charges after being arrested during a reported theft in progress.
Officers were called to a business near High Street and Borden Avenue around 2:15 pm on March 12. Police say a suspect matching the description provided was seen leaving the store and was taken into custody without incident. Stolen items were recovered and returned.
The 35-year-old Peterborough man was already wanted on several outstanding warrants, including multiple counts of theft under $5,000, failing to comply with court orders, and uttering threats.
Following the arrest, he was charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with an undertaking. Police say he was also under conditions not to attend the business where the incident occurred.
