You’ll see plenty of green around Peterborough this weekend.
Sunday marks the 26th annual Peterborough St. Patrick’s Day Parade down George Street.
Organizer Tim Burke says this year there will be about 75 entries, featuring a nice mix of attractions.
A signature event in the city, Burke stresses that the parade is a fun time for all, regardless of their background.
In terms of the route, Burke says the parade will once again start at City Hall but a change has been made to the ending point.
This year’s parade grand marshal is Christy Roche, a native of Cork, Ireland who has written a book about the Peterborough Robinson immigration families and is a leading authority on their journey to Canada and their subsequent contributions to their new home.
