A night of hockey and fundraising will come together this week in support of mentoring programs for local youth.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough is hosting its third annual Big Game for Kids fundraiser Thursday during the game between the Peterborough Petes and the Oshawa Generals.
The game is set for a 7:05 pm puck drop at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The event is being held in partnership with the Petes and sponsored by Monaghan Lumber. Organizers say the night will include a silent auction and a PS5 Chuck-A-Puck contest.
Executive director Zoe King said the event brings together hockey and community support to help expand mentoring programs in the area.
Tickets are $25 and must be purchased directly through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough in order for proceeds to support local mentoring programs. Organizers say all funds raised will stay in the community and help match young people with adult mentors.
