Trent University faculty, staff and retirees have again come through to the benefit of the annual United Way campaign.
On Monday (March 9th) at the university’s Bata Library, United Way CEO Jim Russell and campaign chair Paul Rellinger accepted a cheque for $124,847 from Julie Davis, Trent vice-president, external relations and development. That amount is highest of any workplace campaign.
Davis noted this campaign marked the 60th year of Trent support for the annual appeal.
Davis says giving to the community has been, and remains, a prioritized pillar of the university.
Campaign officer Adeline Murphy says Trent’s example is inspiring to the community at large.
The $1.6 million campaign, which ends March 31st, is close to 97 percent of its goal. Visit www.uwpeterborough.ca to make a donation or to purchase tickets for the monthly 50-50 draw.
