While March is the month where we jump into spring, winter is letting us know it’s not ready to say goodbye to 2026 just yet.
Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Cold Warning for the area as temperatures are expected to drop to -24 degrees with the windchill making it feel like -29 overnight.
They say that the risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Keep moving to maintain your body heat and seek shelter from the wind.
