Marlene Morrison Nicholls and her husband Ken Nicholls are continuing a family tradition of supporting Ross Memorial Hospital with a leadership gift to the WE ARE THE ROSS capital campaign.
The donation, presented on December 19, will help fund critical improvements to hospital facilities, medical equipment, and technology, supporting the Emergency Department, ICU, and life-saving diagnostic tools.
Marlene Morrison Nicholls has been involved with Ross Memorial for more than 30 years, including volunteer work on the RMH Foundation board during past campaigns and support for physician recruitment efforts. Her mother, Ethelreda (Hutton) Morrison, graduated from Ross Memorial Hospital’s Nursing School in 1946, beginning a career devoted to patient care.
The Morrison Nicholls family’s contribution has earned them Founder-level recognition on the new 1902 Society Donor Recognition Wall.
“It is not only the Ross Team, our patients and our donors who we speak of when we say WE ARE THE ROSS,” said Erin Coons, RMH Foundation CEO. “We include our community, businesses, volunteers past and present, and all who have impacted care at the Ross since 1902 — people like Ethelreda Morrison. Together, over generations, we are advancing care close to home.”
The WE ARE THE ROSS campaign supports the hospital’s highest priority projects, funding essential facilities, technology upgrades, and equipment to ensure patients in the Kawartha Lakes region receive advanced care.
