Phot via Facebook, Peterborough Senior Ladies SloPitch
Peterborough’s sport community is mourning the loss of longtime volunteer Peter Flemons.
Flemons died Friday (January 23rd) at his Aylmer Street residence. Word of his passing brought forth a flood of condolences on social media from the many who benefitted over the years from his help and good humour.
A scorekeeper at Fleming Phoenix and Trent Excalibur varsity volleyball games for more than two decades, Flemons most recently handled scorekeeping and field preparation for Peterborough’s senior men’s and women’s slopitch leagues.
Beyond the sports realm, Flemons was an eager volunteer with a number of organizations, the Canadian Cancer Society being one.
A celebration of life for Flemons will be held in the spring.
