Habitat For Humanity Peterborough and Kawartha Region will mark a major milestone this Sunday (January 11), welcoming the 100th family to its newly-built four-bedroom home.
Located on Atchison Road in Fraserville, the home build saw several partners involved, including Pat and Don Wood, who donated the land. In addition, a $100,000 donation toward the building cost came from the former Bailieboro-Springville and Springville United churches.
Habitat For Humanity CEO Susan Zambonin recounts the progression which has seen 100 local families housed over the years.
Zambonin says affordable home ownership has been, and remains, a pretty big deal.
Looking ahead, Zambonin says there are few Habitat For Humanity projects in the works.
