Peterborough Police and the Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating after a fatal residential fire.
Police say officers were notified of a fire at a home in the area of McDonnel Street and Park Street North at about 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A 27-year-old Peterborough man was found inside the residence and transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts. Two other occupants of the home were also taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say officers will remain in the area as the investigation continues alongside the Ontario Fire Marshal.
