The Petes opened up 2026 with a New Years matinee game against the Kingston Frontenacs on Thursday afternoon.
Petes came back from the holiday break shutting out the Oshawa Generals and were looking to keep their momentum alive against another East Division rival.
While the Petes were looking for two points to put some distance between themselves and North Bay, the Frontenacs were looking for the two points to jump from 7th to a tie for 5th and just a couple of points behind Peterborough.
