Peterborough police have arrested a 44-year-old man wanted for second-degree murder in connection with a December 6 homicide.
Officers from the Investigative Services Unit located Michael Waterman in Peterborough around 3:00 pm on December 26. The Emergency Response Team attended a residence in the Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street area. Waterman exited the home and surrendered to police without incident.
He has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in custody. Waterman was scheduled to appear in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on December 27.
Police say Waterman was also wanted in connection with a homicide in Durham Region on December 23. The Peterborough Police Service thanked the public and partner agencies for their assistance and confirmed the search for suspects in the December 6 homicide is now complete.
