Olivia and Noah continue to top the list as Ontario’s most popular baby names, according to new provincial data for 2024.
Olivia ranked as the number one name for girls for the 16th consecutive year, while Noah held the top spot for boys for the sixth year in a row.
The province says the top 10 girl names in 2024 were Olivia, Charlotte, Sophia, Amelia, Emma, Ava, Maya, Sofia, Mia and Isla. The top 10 boy names were Noah, Liam, Theodore, Oliver, Jack, Henry, Benjamin, Lucas, Muhammad and Leo.
“Welcoming a new baby and choosing a name are joyful milestones, and we want parents to spend that time making memories, not worrying about paperwork,” said Stephen Crawford, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. He pointed to ServiceOntario’s 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle as a way to simplify the process for families.
The 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle allows parents to register a birth and apply for a birth certificate, Social Insurance Number, Canada Child Benefit, Ontario Child Benefit and Education Savings Referral service through a single application.
Parents are reminded that a child’s birth must be registered within 30 days to ensure access to essential documents and benefits.
