Peterborough says snow-clearing crews were out overnight on both arterial and residential streets as winter operations ramped up across the city.
In an update issued Wednesday morning, the city said crews will continue surface treatment and snow removal on arterial, collector and residential routes throughout the day. Depending on how conditions evolve, operations may temporarily shift to arterial roads only, with residential clearing resuming once major routes are under control.
Residents are being asked to avoid parking on streets, stay patient and give crews space to work safely.
Peterborough Transit has switched to snow routes until conditions improve.
The city says all municipal parking lots have been plowed and treated, with crews returning as snow accumulates. Sidewalk and trail units are also active and will continue covering their routes throughout the day.
