Applications are now open for the City of Peterborough’s Low Income Senior and Low Income Property Tax Assistance Program.
Eligible applicants can receive a $414 tax credit applied to their February 2026 interim tax bill. Those who previously received a higher credit will continue to receive their existing amount.
Residents can apply under the following categories:

Low Income Senior aged 65 or older

Low Income Senior aged 55–64
-
Low Income Disabled Person receiving ODSP benefits
Applications are available online at peterborough.ca/TaxAssistance or in person at the City Hall Service Peterborough counter, 500 George St. N. Residents who received a tax credit in 2025 will automatically be mailed a 2026 application.
