Drivers and pedestrians in the downtown area should plan for an extra week of disruption on Aylmer Street. The closure between Westcott Street and Lake Street, originally scheduled to reopen today, will now remain in place until Friday, October 10 as crews continue underground sewer replacement.
Northbound traffic is being detoured west on Romaine Street, north on Park Street, and east on Rink Street. Southbound drivers are detoured east on Rink Street, south on George Street, and west on Romaine before returning to Aylmer.
Pedestrians can still use one sidewalk along the construction zone, and local traffic will have access to properties within the area.
City officials and contractors thank the public for their patience and cooperation while the work is completed.
