The Lakers are in Six Nations tonight for another must-win game against the Chiefs. Peterborough stayed alive in the series with a 9-8 win in Game 4 on Saturday. The last time a team came back from a 3-0 deficit in the MSL Final was in 2016 when the Chiefs came back to beat the Lakers in seven games.
It was a winning weekend for the Peterborough 8U Tigers. The team only lost one game on route to capturing the Ontario Baseball Association championship in front of a packed hometown crowd at East City Bowl. The Tigers won their final game 11-9 against Scarborough, the team that handed them their only loss.
And there were several local connections in Korea as Canada won their first-ever gold medal at the U20 World Lacrosse Championship. Jr. A Lakers Sam Trumble and Wyatt Wiggins were on the team, along with another Peterborough native, Brendan Marino. Two former Lakers were also involved, with John Grant Jr. on the sidelines as the team’s assistant coach and Dan Carey serving as GM.
