Trent University’s most ambitious fundraising initiative has reached a significant milestone, with more than $60 million raised to date through its Momentous Campaign.
The university says the campaign—aiming for a $100-million goal—is transforming student success, academic leadership and campus revitalization through philanthropic investment.
Associate vice president of Philanthropy, Sherry Booth, spoke with PTBOTODAY.ca about why this effort has been met with such success.
In a competitive environment for fundraising dollars, Booth says Trent stands out for a few reasons.
Funds are supporting initiatives such as the Jarislowsky Chair in Trust and Political Leadership, new scholarships and bursaries, expanded community-based research, and revitalized spaces like the Lady Eaton College Music Room and the Jalynn Bennett Amphitheatre.
Launched in 2022, the campaign has already helped grow Trent’s endowment to $112 million. Officials also say a rising number of monthly donors are helping sustain long-term support for students, research and learning.
The milestone was formally announced at the June 20th Board of Governors meeting.
