A Peterborough based law firm has rolled out a free smartphone app designed to make it easier for motorists to record crucial details at the scene of a crash.
The “Crash Companion” app from Miskin Law Professional Corporation lets users pre-load licence, insurance and vehicle information, then add photos, witness statements — even QR-code links for witnesses to file their own accounts — immediately after an accident.
“Be prepared and download the app now because you never know when an accident will happen,” founding lawyer Murray Miskin said.
Partner Chris Goddard called the tool “extremely valuable” for capturing evidence that can be hard to secure later.
Daniel Miskin said the initiative is “mostly public service,” adding it also reinforces the firm’s reputation and may attract new clients.
Corporate lawyer Phil Ugnat emphasized user control: “The information gathered remains with the user and only goes to those they choose to share it with.”
Miskin Law serves clients across Canada from offices in Peterborough, Oshawa, Toronto and Lindsay.
