A 40-year-old Peterborough man faces multiple charges after police responded to a report of a man waving a handgun Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the area of Murray Street and Aylmer Street around 6:50pm. They located two men matching the description and arrested them at gunpoint. One man was released without charges.
Police seized an imitation handgun and learned the suspect had pointed the weapon at two people nearby. No injuries were reported.
The man faces charges of pointing a firearm and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. He is currently under court orders banning him from possessing weapons.
