One of the most vital services offered by the Canadian Cancer Society is in great need of volunteers.
Wheels of Hope, which provides those undergoing cancer treatment with rides to and from their Toronto appointments, has issued a call for volunteer drivers. There’s a specific need for drivers that can serve cancer patients in the Apsley, Bobcaygeon, Campbellford and Cobourg areas, but volunteers from any area are welcome.
Wheels of Hope volunteer coordinator Mark Kahan says driver service is critically important to those in outlying areas in need of transport to the city.
Kahan says Wheels of Hope volunteers are gifted with a truly rewarding experience.
Kahan says volunteer drivers can help out according to their schedule.
