A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after police responded to reports of a person with a long gun late Thursday night.
Just before midnight, officers were called to the area of Herbert Street and St. Paul’s Street after reports of a suspicious person. When police arrived, they learned that a man had been seen walking through the neighbourhood with a long gun and that there appeared to be a dispute between two people.
The Emergency Response Team was called in and arrested a man matching the description at a nearby residence. Officers seized two pellet rifles, two swords and a dagger.
The man has been charged with possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and two counts of breach of recognizance.
