An 18-year-old from Peterborough is facing several charges after a violent robbery Wednesday afternoon sent two people to hospital.
Police were called around 1:15pm to a business near Brock and Aylmer Streets, where a store owner and a Loss Prevention Officer were injured during a confrontation with a suspect. Both were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers found the suspect a few blocks away and took him into custody. A search by the Emergency Response Team and K9 unit led to the discovery of a knife and other items believed to be connected to the robbery.
The man is charged with two counts of robbery with violence and two counts of failing to comply with a youth sentence order. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.
