Peterborough County OPP is investigating a suspicious incident after a 12-year-old girl was approached by a vehicle while walking along Chemong Road.
Police say the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on May 4th, when a concerned parent reported that a man driving a silver or gold minivan made an abrupt U-turn to approach the youth. The driver offered the girl a ride, which she declined before returning home. The vehicle then made another U-turn and continued toward Bridgenorth.
The driver is described as a Middle Eastern man, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with a beard and wearing a blue turban. A licence plate was not obtained.
The investigation is ongoing, and OPP are asking to speak with the driver involved. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Peterborough County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.stopcrimehere.ca.
