A 45-year-old man from Peterborough is facing impaired driving charges after police were called to a vehicle blocking a lane of traffic.
Officers responded to the area of George Street North and Murray Street around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Police say the vehicle was partially stopped in a live lane, and when officers approached the driver, they observed signs of impairment.
The man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, as well as operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.
Police say the accused is a prohibited driver. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He was released with an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 10th.
