As spring brings new life to Peterborough’s Jackson Park, some ugly leftovers from winter are in need of some quick attention.
To that end, Friends of Jackson Park is hosting a litter cleanup in the park this Saturday (May 3).
Starting at 10 a.m., people are asked to gather in the parking lot at Monaghan and Parkhill roads where they’ll be organized into teams before heading into the park.
Friends of Jackson Park member Gunther Schubert says the now semi-annual initiative came about as a result of residents wanting to maintain the park’s beauty.
Schubert says looking after our urban green spaces is important work.
Schubert says those helping out should come prepared for the elements and the terrain.
