Local blood donations were severely impacted by the recent ice storm and its aftermath.
That’s the word from Jill Gemmiti, community development manager with Canadian Blood Services’ Peterborough office.
Gemmiti says it will be difficult, if not impossible, to make up the shortfall in blood unit donations.
Gemmiti says becoming a first-time donor is an easy process.
