With Peterborough Action for Tiny Homes having completed its first tiny home project and its resident moved in, the organization is already planning its next builds.
Made possible via financial donations and material contributions from Kingdon Timber Mart and Gus’ Kitchen and Bath, the 400 square foot unit saw 1,500 volunteers contribute to it being done on time and on budget.
PATH board member Keith Dalton says, for all involved, the project’s completion has been a long time coming, with more than a few hurdles overcome. He says the end result is a testament to the dedication and determination of all involved.
Dalton notes property that the tiny home is located on is owned by One City.
Dalton, who retired from OPG in 2007 and took on renovation and building projects in retirement, speaks to his motivation for doing this volunteer work.
With the next two homes being worked on, One City has issued a call for donated household items such as queen mattresses and bed frames, lamps, drinking glasses, and pots and pans. For details and to donate, visit pathptbo.org.
