A 22-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after Ontario Provincial Police responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Asphodel 3rd Line.
Peterborough County OPP say they were called to the scene on February 24th, shortly after 6:00 p.m. Officers arrived to find a grey pickup truck lodged deep in the snow, with the driver still inside. Due to the depth of the snow, the individual was unable to open the door and instead exited through the window when prompted by officers.
Police say they detected signs of impairment and arrested the driver. He has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
As a result, Anderson’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 25th.
