A 41-year-old Marmora man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop early Monday morning in Peterborough.
Peterborough police say officers on general patrol pulled over a vehicle at around 2:45 a.m. on February 17th in the Lansdowne Street and Aylmer Street area. During the stop, officers identified several Highway Traffic Act infractions and, upon searching the vehicle, seized 13.6 grams of fentanyl, 50 grams of suspected cocaine, 126 pills, and drug paraphernalia.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as several Highway Traffic Act offences, including driving with an insecure load, possessing more than one licence, and obstructing a licence plate. He also faces a charge under the Cannabis Control Act for having cannabis readily available in a vehicle.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 1st.
