The Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that human remains found earlier this month in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township belong to a missing 30-year-old identified as ‘Jesse’.
Peterborough County OPP first received reports of Jesse’s disappearance on Jan. 9th. A search ensued, and on Jan. 14, investigators located the remains of a deceased individual near Fourth Line in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.
Police maintained an increased presence in the area during the investigation. On Jan. 24th, authorities confirmed the remains were those of Jesse.
At this time, foul play is not suspected, but the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service continues to investigate.
No further details about the case have been released.
