A routine RIDE program conducted by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP on Highway 35 led to multiple drug trafficking charges on Monday.
Around 2:35 am, officers stopped a vehicle at the RIDE checkpoint near Golf Course Road. After interacting with the driver and four passengers, officers initiated a drug trafficking investigation.
All five individuals were arrested and face the following charges:
- Jamie Adams, 34, of Lindsay: Possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of a prohibited device, liquor-related offences, and failing to surrender insurance and permit documents.
- Ronnie Escott, 30, of Lindsay: Possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of a prohibited device, and breaching probation.
- Ashley Johnson, 39, of Lindsay: Possession of cocaine for trafficking and possession of a prohibited device.
- Tamara McQuade, 26, of Lindsay: Possession of cocaine for trafficking and possession of a prohibited device.
- Adam Wesley, 34, of Hamilton: Possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of a prohibited device, and breaching probation.
