This Monday’s Labour Day holiday will bring the usual adjustments to services provided by the City of Peterborough.
Both city hall and the Peterborough Public Library will be closed September 2nd.
While the City/County landfill on Bensfort Road and the hazardous and electronic waste depot on Pido Road will be closed, those who normally have their garbage, recycling and organic waste picked up on Monday will be provided that service on Labour Day.
Public works, meanwhile, can be reached 24-7 at 705-745-1386
Peterborough Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday service schedule. Visit www.peterborough.ca/transit for operating hours and bus routes.
The social services office on Charlotte Street will be closed along with all city-operated child care centres.
Splash pads will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. but, with the lifeguard program ended for the season, beaches at Roger’s Cove and Beavermead are unsupervised.
The Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Also open on the holiday, from noon to 5 p.m., is the Peterborough Museum and Archives but the Art Gallery of Peterborough will be closed.
