Two Peterborough teens are facing charges after an early morning traffic stop on Saturday.
Just before 3am, an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle speeding southbound on Chemong Road. The vehicle then failed to stop at two red lights before the officer conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, the officer observed the driver and passenger switching places, and after approaching the vehicle, signs of impairment were noticed in both individuals.
A 17-year-old male, who was the original driver, was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and stunt driving. His license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
An 18-year-old male, who switched to the driver’s seat, was also arrested and charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
