A 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested Monday evening after an incident in the area of George Street and Hunter Street. At around 7pm, officers responded to reports of suspicious activity, locating a man and a woman matching the description they were given.
Following an investigation, the woman was allowed to leave but the man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. A search conducted after his arrest led to the seizure of a small quantity of drugs and three knives. Additionally, it was discovered that he was subject to a weapons prohibition.
The man is facing several charges as a result, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and failure to comply with a probation order. He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 27th.
