The city of Peterborough is inviting local businesses and community groups to participate in the annual Canada Day parade set for July 1st.
Mayor Jeff Leal highlighted the parade’s long-standing tradition in the community, stating, “The Canada Day parade has been a family favourite in Peterborough for decades. It’s fantastic to have the community come together to celebrate our country and reflect on its history. Having an entry in the parade is an excellent opportunity for local businesses and community groups to connect with everyone along the parade route.”
Interested participants have until June 14th at 4:30pm to submit their entries.
Entry forms are available online, and paper copies can be picked up at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre or City Hall.
There is a $125 fee for commercial floats, and all entrants must attend a mandatory safety meeting on June 25th at Healthy Planet Arena.
