A sizable number of Peterborough ballplayers are counting down the days until May 14th.
On that Tuesday, the Peterborough Men’s Senior Slo-Pitch League will open play at Kinsmen Park for its 33rd season. For players aged 55 and up – the oldest league player last season was 89 years old – games are played Tuesday and Thursday mornings into September.
League president Sean Traviss says registration is now open for the 2024 season.
The league’s enduring success, says Traviss, lies in its offering a mix of competitiveness and camaraderie.
For players who don’t want to make the league commitment, there’s another option for them to stay involved in the game.
The league was formed in 1990 and began play the following summer.
