Peterborough County-City Paramedics’ new chief is on the job, making the transition to her new role under the mentorship of retiring chief Randy Mellow.
Patricia Bromfield, who joined the service in the fall of 2022 as deputy chief of operations, was announced as the new chief on February 7th. She says the challenges the services faces are reflective of those experienced across the province.
Speaking to the transition to chief, Bromfield credits county council for its support of a succession plan that ensures service continuity.
As for priorities moving forward, “working toward a robust recruitment plan” comes to mind quickly, but there are others.
