The PTBO Regional Farmer’s Market (PRFM) is piloting indoor Wednesday markets that offer something different for shoppers.
Governed by the Peterborough Regional Farmers Network, the PRFM is a registered Not-for-Profit Corporation.
Among their vendors, 60% are primary producers who undergo third-party inspections to confirm that they cultivate everything they sell while the remaining 40% are bakers, prepared food vendors, artists, and community groups.
We spoke with Board Chairperson Jeff Wagner about the Wednesday pilot project.
Despite Wagner reporting a slower fall/winter season for the indoor Wednesday market, he says the Saturday market is attracting plenty of customers. Amidst this pilot, Wagner also notes that the new indoor location, just a couple of lots up from its original housing at the foot of the Peterborough Square, has provided one benefit.
Wagner says the Wednesday markets offer a bit of a different experience for shoppers.
You can visit the regional market in the Peterborough Square’s lower level just behind the escalators on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., or Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
