Peterborough County-City Paramedics are again spearheading an effort to provide blankets and sleeping bags to the community’s most vulnerable.
From January 8th to March 15th, residents can drop off new or gently used blankets and sleeping bags at Windsor’s Dry Cleaning Centre on Parkhill Road West. All donated items will be cleaned free of charge and delivered to the Trinity Community Centre for distribution.
Paramedic deputy chief Craig Jones says success of last year’s inaugural Blankets For People campaign was key in its return this year.
Jones says what he was hearing from frontline staff was key in the campaign’s formation.
Jones says the recipients of donated items are very grateful.
Donated items can also be dropped off at any one of series of public skate sessions at county township arenas scheduled for January and February. In addition, anyone in need can pick up an item at those same locations.
